3 Days To The Election, APC Changes Tactics, Makes A Move In China, Fortifies Itself Ahead Of 2019 Elections, Allegedly

ATIKU Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party said the All Progressives  Congress has trained some of their operatives in China to slow or hasten the function of the smart card readers during the upcoming presidential election.

Speaking at the PDP national executive council’s emergency meeting on Tuesday, Atiku said many of the APC operatives were trained in China to carry out fraud on the smart card readers.

“We have just discovered that the APC has hired many of their operatives and have taken them to China to be trained,” PDP presidential candidate said.

He said the trained operatives have returned back to Nigeria, equipped with devices meant to slow or fasten the smart card readers.

According to the Atiku. the smart card readers would be slow in the reading permanent voter cards of the electorates in South-south, South-east and Northcentral regions of the country which PDP recognised as their strongholds in the presidential election of February 23.

But he said in the Northwest, Northeast, and Southwest, there is a tendency that the smart card readers would be fast in the reading of the PVCs.

“If you’re in the Northwest, Northeast and Southwest, the tendency is that they will use this machine to fast-track the readings of your card readers so that many of their supporters can vote while disenfranchising the other three zones,” Atiku said.

He said his party is currently disseminating information to her members on the APC plan to use a handheld device to slow down INEC smart card readers.

“I thought you should know that we have supplied the information to the campaign council, and you will even see the copy of the machine which each and every one of those operatives is to hold.”

The smart card readers are part of the materials used by the Independent National Electoral Commission to verify the voters before a vote is cast. The card readers particularly verify the permanent voter cards.

The ICIR contacted Atiku Media adviser, Paul Ibe, to provide evidence for this claim but he did not respond.
