His Excellency the Governor of Ogun State Senator Ibikunle Amosun will be receiving awards from Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council in respects of the Governor’s achievements in the development of the State within his eight years of governance.
This was contained in the press statement released and signed by the State Council Chairman and Secretary of NUJ, Comrade Wole Sokunbi and Soji Amosun respectively.
In the statement, Amosun will be honoured with an Icon of Modern Democracy by the State Council of NUJ.
“The Union decided to honour Governor Amosun because of his unpredidented achievements in the last eight years in the area of infrastructural development, environment, security and road construction”
Also to be honoured is the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta FUNAAB, Professor Felix Kolawole Salako. The don is honoured because of bringing an enduring lasting peace to the campus and his interest in the growth development of media industry in the state.
Others to be honoured include Dr. Abdullahi Azeez, Executive Director NNPC; Mrs Anike Ojuolape Azeez; Alhaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, Chairman PCRC, Ogun State; Mrs Oluwatoyin Egbesola NIPOST Abuja. “They are being honoured because of their services to humanity, empowerment of Women and children in the society and interest in the development of pen profession”
As a reward of diligency, good records and growth in their careers, three past executive members of the state Council will be recognized as Ambassadors of the Union. They are Messrs Kola Adepoju, Seun Abati and Biodun Bello.
The annual press week kicks off with the Jumat Service this Friday, Thanksgiving on Sunday while the opening holds next Tuesday, 18th December, 2018 at the NUJ Secretariat, Oke-ilewo at 10:00 am to be declared open by the State Governor and grand patron of Ogun NUJ, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
