As I arrived from London at the Muritala Muhammad international airport around 6.45 am in the morning of last week Wednesday via Air France.I instantly felt the aura of apprehension and discomfort as I was about to submit my passport for immigration clearance.
For the first time, I was asked to step aside and within few minutes, two plain-clothed men warmly approached me to follow them into their office.
"Excuse me Sir, can I ask some questions?'
" Relax until we get into our office upstairs".
"What is my crime for God sake?" I asked with anger.
"Keep on creating scene,no need to respond to you."
My instincts encouraged me to scream for help from passengers at the airport.Silence was no longer golden.
One of the officers appeared friendly and said :
"Are you not Jagunmolu Lasisi whatever on Facebook? Are you not the self-acclaimed Egunmogaji of Nigerian bloggers?"
"I am the one Sir.I hope no probem at all?"
"We have been waiting for you to arrive from London."
"Arrive for political appointment or what?"
"To arrive for security checks and interrogation."
"My crime please?"
"Cyber crimes plus treason...."
"Oh my God! Cyber what? Treason what? I need to inform my relations and Lawyer now."
My Ogbanje smartphone rang but I was prevented from picking the call.It was my wife's phonecall probably to ask about my arrival and safety in Nigeria.
Suddenly, one rude police officer snatched my phone from my hand and mistakenly broke the screen.
I made one last desperate request :" Please let me collect my luggage. My brother and wife are waiting for me at the arrival hall to take me to my hotel room. Please, allow me to see them for just five minutes."
To be continued...
