
Barely 24 hours after Babachir Lawal and Ayo Oke were suspended, President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed acting Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Director General, Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA).
President appointed Ambassador Arab Yadam from Plateau State as acting DG of NIA, while Dr. Habibat Lawal from Bauchi State is to act as the SGF.
Recalled that President Buhari had on Wednesday suspended the SGF, Mr David Babachir Lawal and the Director General of the NIA, Ambassador Ayo Oke.
The President then, ordered an investigation into the allegations of violations of law and due process made against him in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE).
Buhari also ordered investigation into the discovery of large amounts of foreign and local currencies by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a residential apartment at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos, over which the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) has made a claim.
