The Federal Government has disbursed payments to more than 1,240 contractors across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, in a push to support businesses, improve liquidity, and accelerate delivery of infrastructure projects nationwide.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the payments followed a verification and reconciliation exercise. Priority was given to contractors with verified claims of ₦100 million and below, targeting indigenous firms and SMEs.
The government said it has processed over ₦700 billion in verified obligations in recent months, including about ₦436.6 billion in May alone.
The move is aimed at helping contractors return to project sites, pay workers and suppliers, protect jobs, and sustain ongoing development projects across the country.
