The frontline aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Chief Toyin Amuzu, has officially obtained the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of the forthcoming general election.

Amuzu, while speaking with journalists shortly after completing the process, pledged to provide purposeful and people-oriented representation if elected into office. He stated that his ambition is driven by the desire to restore effective leadership and ensure that the dividends of democracy reach residents at the grassroots level.

According to him, the people of Abeokuta South deserve quality representation that will focus on human capital development, empowerment programmes, educational support and infrastructural improvement across communities within the constituency.

He noted that his track record of community service over the years demonstrates his commitment to the welfare of the people. Through the Toyin Amuzu Foundation, several intervention projects have reportedly been carried out in different parts of the constituency.

The projects include the construction of boreholes to improve access to potable water, distribution of educational materials to pupils and students in primary and secondary schools, financial support for traders and small business owners, as well as scholarship opportunities for less privileged students.

Amuzu said these efforts reflect his passion for community development and his understanding of the needs of the people.

“I want to represent the people differently by bringing governance closer to them. Our focus will be on practical programmes that can improve lives and create more opportunities for youths, women and the elderly,” he said.

He also called on party members and residents of Abeokuta South Federal Constituency to support his aspiration, assuring them of transparent and accessible representation if elected.

Political observers in the constituency believe that Amuzu’s entrance into the race may further strengthen competition within the PDP ahead of the party primaries and the general election.
