A strong wave of political endorsement has emerged from the grassroots level in Ogun State, as councillors from Ifo and Ewekoro Local Governments have thrown their full weight behind the re-election bid of Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka, member representing Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
In a jointly signed communiqué, 16 councillors—six from Ifo and ten from Ewekoro—unanimously declared their “total and unequivocal support” for Isiaka’s fourth-term ambition, citing his performance, accessibility, and sustained impact on the constituency as key reasons for their decision.
The councillors, who described themselves as “the true voice of the grassroots,” emphasized that their endorsement was based on measurable achievements rather than political sentiment. According to them, Isiaka has distinguished himself as a “tested, trusted, and result-oriented legislator,” whose leadership has consistently translated into tangible benefits for the people.
They highlighted his role as Deputy Chief Whip in the House of Representatives, noting that his rising influence has brought increased visibility and development opportunities to the constituency. The councillors also commended what they described as a remarkable progression in his legislative performance over the years, particularly in his most recent term.
“Our communities have benefitted immensely from his people-centered initiatives, empowerment programmes, and regular engagement with grassroots leaders,” the statement read. “He has proven to be not just a representative, but a dependable partner in development.”
The endorsement also reaffirmed Isiaka’s alignment with the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a relationship the councillors believe positions the constituency for greater federal attention and opportunities under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a notable political stance, the councillors openly rejected the emerging “Ifo Lokan” slogan, insisting that continuity, rather than rotation, should guide representation at the federal level. They argued that this is not a period for experimentation but for consolidating the gains already achieved.
“The grassroots are united. The grassroots are resolute. The grassroots have spoken,” the communiqué declared, stressing that Isiaka remains “the only credible, experienced, and politically positioned candidate” to lead the constituency forward.
The endorsement was backed by a list of councillors across both local governments, including Hon. Akeem A. Olaifa, Hon. Adeyemi Shobogun, Hon. Onifade Kehinde, Hon. Bello Kehinde, Hon. Shodipo Modupe, Hon. Jimoh Ibrahim (all from Ifo), as well as Hon. Abiola Mujeeb, Hon. Anisere Wasiu Adekunle, Hon. Ewedairo Ige, Hon. Ajayi Kehinde Timothy, Hon. Olawiyo Azeee, Hon. Falabi Samuel, Hon. Olakunle Olayinka, and Hon. Adekunle Abiodun (from Ewekoro).
They collectively called on party members, stakeholders, and constituents to unite behind Isiaka’s candidacy to secure a decisive victory at the polls.
With the resounding slogan, “One Voice. One Structure. One Winning Team,” the councillors signaled a coordinated grassroots movement aimed at ensuring continuity in representation and sustained development for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency.
