Ewekoro Local Government came alive on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, as dignitaries, government officials, and residents gathered for the 2025 Christmas Carol organized by the Ewekoro Local Government Christian Community. The event, hosted at the council secretariat, was filled with music, prayers, and moments of reflection, marking the fifth consecutive Christmas Carol held under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa.
In his address, Hon. Adesina expressed heartfelt gratitude to guests, staff members, and political officeholders for their presence and continued support throughout his administration. He described the occasion as a moment of joy and spiritual renewal, emphasizing the importance of Christmas as a season that embodies love, peace, and unity.
Reflecting on the significance of the annual celebration, the Chairman reiterated the need for communal harmony, especially at a time when the nation continues to grapple with security challenges. He reminded attendees that achieving peace begins with individuals and communities promoting understanding and cooperation.
Hon. Adesina further commended the Ewekoro Local Government Christian Community for consistently organizing an event that brings together people of different backgrounds to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. He noted that such gatherings strengthen the bond within the local government and deepen the message of hope associated with the season.
The Chairman also acknowledged the tremendous support received from the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, particularly in the area of ensuring safety and development across the state. According to him, the governor’s dedication continues to inspire growth and stability in every sector.
In a moment of pride, Hon. Adesina celebrated the local government’s recent recognition as the best among the 20 LGAs in Ogun State by the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission. He attributed this accomplishment to the diligence of his cabinet members, administrative heads, and the entire workforce.
He did not fail to express gratitude for the warm birthday celebration recently organized in his honor, describing the gesture as deeply appreciated.
Looking ahead, the Chairman assured staff and political functionaries that the administration would uphold its tradition of providing an end-of-the-year bonus as a token of appreciation for their hard work throughout the year. He encouraged residents to remain committed to building a more unified and progressive Ewekoro in the coming year.
As the carol resonated through the venue with melodious hymns and performances, the message of hope and togetherness echoed strongly.
Hon. Adesina concluded his speech by wishing all Christians and residents a joyous Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year, reaffirming that the growth of Ogun State is a shared responsibility.
“Igbega ipinle Ogun, ajọṣe gbogbo wa ni o!” he declared, as the event drew to a close amid cheers and festive excitement.
