Abeokuta City — In a major humanitarian gesture aimed at easing economic hardship and spreading festive cheer, the Engr. Jamiu Ogundele Foundation has announced plans to reach out to no fewer than 1,500 widows and less privileged individuals ahead of the 2025 Christmas celebrations.
The outreach programme, which forms part of the foundation’s annual social intervention initiatives, is designed to provide relief materials, food items, and other essential support to vulnerable members of society during the yuletide season. According to the foundation, the initiative underscores its long-standing commitment to compassion, inclusion, and community development.
Speaking on the planned exercise, representatives of the foundation disclosed that beneficiaries would be drawn from various communities, with special consideration given to widows, the elderly, persons living with disabilities, and economically disadvantaged households.
“The Christmas period should be a time of joy and hope for everyone, regardless of their circumstances,” a spokesperson for the foundation said. “This initiative is our way of standing with widows and the less privileged, reminding them that they are not forgotten and that the community cares.”
Founded by Engr. Jamiu Ogundele, the foundation has consistently intervened in areas such as education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and poverty alleviation.
