Sagamu, Ogun State — In a show of commitment to educational development and community welfare, the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has pledged to sponsor the Common Entrance Examination fees of all 49 Primary Six pupils of Wesley Primary School, Sotubo.
The gesture came during a working visit by the Chairman and members of the Local Government’s Executive Council, who made a quick stop at the school while returning from a field assessment. The visit aimed to address issues of encroachment on government land within the school premises and to assess the welfare of both pupils and teachers.
Speaking during the visit, Ogbeni Odulate expressed concern over reports of residents encroaching on government land and stressed the importance of protecting public property for community development. He assured the school management that appropriate measures would be taken to prevent further encroachment and to safeguard the school environment.
While addressing the pupils, the Chairman gave words of encouragement and moral guidance, urging them to remain focused and disciplined.
“Stay away from cultism, avoid truancy, and concentrate on your studies,” he advised. “You all have a bright future ahead, and the foundation you are building now will determine your success later in life.”
In a compassionate gesture that drew applause from teachers and community members, Ogbeni Odulate announced that he would personally sponsor the Common Entrance Examination fees for all the pupils in Primary Six.
He reiterated his administration’s unwavering support for education, youth development, and community empowerment, describing these as core pillars of his leadership agenda for Sagamu Local Government.
“Education remains the strongest weapon for individual and societal progress. My administration is determined to continue supporting our schools and ensuring that no child is left behind,” he stated.
The visit further underscores the Sagamu Local Government’s proactive efforts to promote good governance, uphold community values, and foster meaningful engagement with residents across all sectors.
The Chairman’s visit concluded with words of appreciation from teachers and pupils, who described the gesture as both inspiring and motivating.
