Gateway State, October 24, 2025 – In a landmark event aimed at fostering collaboration and empowerment among youth leaders, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State chapter, hosted its maiden Exchange Retreat for Local Branch Coordinators in Ogun State. The event, held on October 24, brought together a dynamic group of young leaders under the inspiring leadership of Engr. Ibrahim Olalekan Adigun, Chairman of NYCN Lagos State, alongside the National Deputy President, Comr. Asoro, and other notable youth representatives.
As the retreat commenced, Comr. Kehinde Damilola Olorunjubelo, Vice President of NYCN Southwest Zone, warmly welcomed the esteemed guests and participants, highlighting the pivotal role youth organizations play in driving societal change. “Today, we gather not only as coordinators but as comrades united by a common goal—to uplift and empower our communities through our collective efforts,” Olorunjubelo stated.
In his address, Engr. Adigun emphasized the importance of building meaningful relationships within the council. He commended the coordinators for their dedication and encouraged them to harness the opportunities provided by this network. “The connections we form today could very well shape our tomorrow. I urge each of you to leverage your experiences within this council to inspire growth and development,” he remarked.
Reflecting on the power of networking, Olorunjubelo shared a personal success story: how he secured employment through a comrade he met in the NYCN. This testament to the value of camaraderie resonated with the participants, energizing them to explore collaborative ventures.
