The National President of the Oduduwa Integrity Association (OIA) has strongly condemned recent statements attributed to an individual parading himself as an Oba in Yorubaland, who falsely alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) brought terrorists into Nigeria to retain power.
The Association described the statement as baseless, irresponsible, and capable of inciting unnecessary division among the Yoruba people and Nigerians at large.
In a statement issued today, the National President emphasized that Chief Reuben Fashoranti, the revered elder statesman and founder of Afenifere Worldwide, remains a symbol of integrity, wisdom, and unity for all Yoruba sons and daughters.
> “With due respect, no Yoruba person of honour and integrity recognizes the self-acclaimed individual as the founder or chairman of Afenifere,” the Association stated. “We stand firmly by Chief Fashoranti, our respected leader, and by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who represents the hope and progress of the Yoruba nation and Nigeria as a whole.”
The Association further warned that making unsubstantiated allegations linking the President or the APC to terrorist activities is defamatory and actionable under the law.
“Such reckless statements will not go unchallenged. The Oduduwa Integrity Association reserves the right to seek redress in a court of competent jurisdiction if these falsehoods are not promptly withdrawn,” the statement added.
Reaffirming its commitment, the Oduduwa Integrity Association declared its unwavering resolve to defend the honour, unity, and integrity of the Yoruba people, and to support leaders who exemplify true patriotism and service to the nation.
“We stand tall as a registered Yoruba organization committed to truth and integrity. Chief Fashoranti remains our guiding light, and President Tinubu is the mirror of a new, progressive Nigeria,” the Association concluded.
