No Unapproved Visits To Benue, Safety Not Guaranteed – Alia Warns

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has issued a stern warning to individuals or groups planning unscheduled visits to the state, cautioning that their safety cannot be guaranteed without prior approval.

In a statement released Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia made it clear that he is not expecting any high-profile visitors at the moment and is currently engaged in strategic meetings with key stakeholders to address pressing issues facing the state.

“For anyone considering a visit to Benue State without the Governor’s knowledge, it is imperative to reconsider such plans, as the safety and security of individuals in this regard cannot be guaranteed,” the statement emphasized.

The governor also specifically cautioned against unscheduled visits to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps, stating that such visits must receive written permission from the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA) before proceeding.

The statement, titled “Notice Regarding Unscheduled Visit to Benue State,” advised against any politically motivated or large gatherings that might stir unrest or breach protocol.

“We urge security agents and the public to take note of this announcement and maintain peace and order in the state,” the government added.

Governor Alia’s message underscores his administration’s stance on security and structured engagement, as tensions rise amid political and humanitarian sensitivities in the state.
