Today, an aspirant for the Federal House of Representatives, Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency and Principal of Oyede Grassroots Organisation made his appeal official to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni and the entire Leadership to look into appeal by youths within the APC for a reduction in the price of nomination and expression of interest forms by 50% as obtained for Women and Persons with Disabilities.
This move is to further endear the party to million of Nigerian Youths who by statistics made available by INEC constitute about 65% of new registrants for the Permanent Voters Card.
While submitting the letter in Person at the National Secretariat, Abuja today, Prince Oyede Oke believes this goes in line with the promise of President Buhari to give youths priority and sense of inclusion in government as the National Convention, Party Primaries and General Election approaches.
The letter reads:
PASSIONATE APPEAL FOR 50% REDUCTION IN THE PRICE OF FORMS FOR YOUTHS BELOW 35 YEARS OF AGE
I write as committed and loyal member of our great party fhe APC to humbly appeal tor a 50% reduction in price of party forms for youths below 35 years as obtainable for women and persons living with disabilities.
According to the recent data released by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) The age category between 18-34 years make up over 65% of
new registrants for the Permanent Voters Card (PVC). I believe at this period; our
party should be very much concerned about it been portrayed as a youth-friendly
political party. Youth inclusion and encouragetnent ean only be achieved through
this technical bonus" of 50% reduction.
I write my letter with full believe in the Leadership of our Party the APC to look
into this request and be very hopetful of a positive outcome.
