Orile-Imo High School: Imo Traditional Council Receives Approval Letter

The Imo Education Committee, on Thursday, 17th March, 2022, presented letter granting approval for the community to resuscitate the defunct Orile Imo High School to Imo Traditional Council. The letter was received by the Oluwo of Imo, Chief Olorunsogo Sunday Ogunwemimo, on behalf of the council. Presenting the letter, the Chairman of the Committee, Chief Sola Otesile, fncs, first thanked God Almighty for the grace given to all the sons and daughters of Imo Community in Egba land of being alive up to today. He stated that the efforts to have the school released for resuscitation started three years ago. 

At the presentation, the Chairman said the community made history on 8th March, 2022 when a letter containing the approval of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR to resuscitate the defunct Orile Imo High School, Orile-Imo was received. He described education as a tool for rapid development and Orile-Imo which is currently witnessing the springing up of various industries within its axis could not be best positioned for the needed development without education. 

The chairman of the committee also highlighted actions to be taken for the smooth take off of the school by September, 2022. Otesile also seized the occasion to present the school logo for approval while seeking for the expansion of the committee to accommodate more members in order to have an unprecedented success regarding the commencement of school activities in September, 2022. 

The Chairman appreciated Imo Traditional Council under the leadership of Oluwo, Chief Olorunsogo Sunday Ogunwemimo, for their unflinching supports. “I am pleased to bring it on record the valuable support received from Engr. Tunde Adesina, Rev Tunde Lemo, Alhaji N. B. Oyedele and other notable members of the community.”, Otesile said. He also thanked members of his committee starting from Alhaji Chief Isiaq Adesanya, the Balogun of Orile Imo, who was appointed on the basis of being a chief at Orile-Imo and Chief Okesola Adesegun, the Baale of Fere Village and committee secretary whose appointment was because of his track records as an educationist and retired principal as well as Hon. Sola Ogunseye and Chief Ola Ayeyemi, the Otunbande of Imo who were both appointed members because they were once students of the school.

Responding at the presentation, the Oluwo of Imo, Chief Olorunsogo Sunday Ogunwemimo, thanked the committee and also assured them of the continuous support of the community.
