Shun Violence, Political Thuggery — Prince John Adegbola Advises Ogun Youths

The governorship hopeful come 2023 in Ogun state, Prince John Adegbola (aka Prince ADEJOHN) has called on youths of Ogun State to shun being used as a political touts and tool to cause violence in the society.

Prince John Adegbola, is a governorship aspirant in the People's Democratic Party, PDP in Ogun State come 2023.

The Administrative and Human Resource professional and social entrepreneurial further remarked that youths in the country can change the wrong perception in certain quarters about the country if they imbibe the spirit of creativity and uprightness and desist from being used as a tool in the hands of the politicians.

Speaking in a virtual interview with Amebo Newspaper NG, Prince John Adegbola made this call in reference to the crises in the opposition party, All Progressive Congress last Saturday where youths were used to cause unrest in Ake area of Abeokuta city during the State Congress.

"If any political office holders cannot use their own children for thuggery, why should you allow yourself to be used?” he queried.

“If it is true that politics is about service and we are all aspiring to serve the people and the community, why the hate speeches and drumming of war songs, public display of weapons and destruction of properties?

He also challenged the youths to start showing leadership traits in their activities.

“If you want to lead tomorrow, it must start today with what you are doing. You must start exhibiting your ability to become tomorrow’s leaders today”, he challenged the youths.

Also, he advised the youth to key into productive ventures to earn a living, thereby becoming self-reliant rather than engage in acts that could jeopardise their future.

He further advised them against any form of violence that could hinder growth, adding that the only way youths could progress was to continue to maintain the peace.

He said Nigeria youths can leverage on the unfolding opportunities in cutting edge investment to make living rather than waiting on government to provide jobs for them.

He reiterated that the youths can make significant impact in various areas of human endeavour including agriculture, trade, industry, academics, urging them not to limit their dream within Nigeria but expand their horizon across the globe.

While cautioning against lukewarmness and relenting, Prince John Adegbola called on the youths to think more about what they can contribute to the governance process instead of what the government can offer them.

He called on the youths to develop a strong character that will propel them for effective leadership predicated on integrity and trust.

He further advised that they keep developing themselves for purposeful and responsible leadership anchored on the fear of God, and with the spirit of servanthood, as Ministers in the scripture means servants not lords.
