The Sagamu Traditional Council, National Youth Council Of Nigeria, NYCN, Organisation For Peace and Community Reconciliation also known as Sagamu Peace Agenda Forum (SPAF) in solidarity support from various stakeholders in the community has called on residents of Sagamu in Ogun state to protect their area from hoodlums attack.

According to the press statement signed by Otunba Kayode Howells, Chairman, Sagamu Peace Agenda Forum, Chairman Operation Protect Sagamu, "Greatest Sagamites, without any iota of doubt, you will agree with me that this press conference is necessary at this point in time so as to address many issues bothering on insecurity, misinformation and purported protests."

"It will recalled that in February this year, the good people Sagamu staged a peaceful protest against officers of SARS to show our grievances on the death of Late Tiamiyu Kazeem alias Kaka who was killed by the brutal forces of the officers of the SARS Unit. On that same day, it is unfortunate to note that we lost 3 of our youngmen when what we thought will be a peaceful protest was hijacked and was turned to a bloody protest. May their souls rest in peace."

"For the past 2 weeks, all stakeholders in  Sagamu are worried concerning the End SARS protest going on nationwide. Our worries and discomfort lies on several information at our disposal that some unknown groups and persons are planning to stage protest in Sagamu in solidarity with the End SARS protest. While we in Sagamu are not against the protest, but it is imperative to state that Sagamu was the 1st Local Government in Nigeria that began the " End Sars and police brutality protest." said Otunba Kayode Howells, Chairman, Sagamu Peace Agenda Forum

"Today, I make bold to say that no SARS officials or personnels will dare enter Sagamu to perpetrate any action either lawfully or unlawfully. (Special thanks to our own DIG Ogunyanwo, who ensured that the voice if the people of Sagamu was heard). It was indeed a victory for Sagamu people but sad to note that victory was paid with the blood of some of our young people. This we prayed to never happen again in Sagamu."

"Let me on this note informed you and based on reliable security information at our disposal that some unscrupulous element, hoodlums and destructive agents has entered Sagamu town waiting for any form of protest to ignite so that they can activate their evil plans... This we totally frowned at and will not allow anyone cause mayhem and crisis in peaceful town. The peace we are enjoying in Sagamu now was not easy to achieved and we cannot afford to joke with it." he added.

Also, he said the decision not allow any form of protest in Sagamu is not in any way an act of cowardice neither does it translate to compromise as believed and asserted by some people, but we are aware that any protest in Sagamu will be hijacked by hoodlums and miscreants who had been hatching the plans since the inception of the #EndSarsProtest.

Therefore, he appeal and urge all the good people of Sagamu to please take to our warnings and information  serious as our elders rightly says that "Ti Idi ba baje, ti onidi lo ma daa".

"Greatest Sagamites, there is a rumour flying round Sagamu and its environs concerning the food palliatives stored at the Sagamu Stadium. Infact just yesterday, hundreds of people were reported to have besieged the stadium planning to loot where these palliatives were kept.  It took the intervention of the Sagamu Peace Agenda Forum, the leadership NYCN Sagamu and some stakeholders to avert what could led to crisis and unrest at the Sagamu Stadium."

"For the sake of clarity,  the food palliatives stored at the stadium were meant for 10 Local Government areas in which some LGs had collected the ones that belongs to them. 7 out of 10 LGs have collected. From our findings, Sagamu LG was among the 7 LGs that have collected. The Chairman of Sagamu Local Government and some youth representatives collected on behalf of the local government. We have been reliably informed that the palliatives for Sagamu had been distributed to various groups in Sagamu (Religious leaders, Market women forums and Youth Associations). All these claims has been be confirmed."

Otunba Kayode Howells appealed to the people's to calm down and get detailed information so that they wont be misled with false information, he said Sagamu is now a peaceful town and they must ensure the continuity of this peace agenda in the interest of progress and development.
