500 Million Cedis Stolen In A Bullion Van Accident

There has been an accident involving a bullion van containing over 500 million cedis cash belonging to Fidelity Bank, Hohoe Branch, an accident which took the life of the motorcycle rider who was knocked off by the bullion van.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Obeng Dickson confirmed the accident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), saying the bullion van containing the cash was accompanied by the driver, who is the cashier and one police officer.

The Commander said the accident caused damages to boxes containing the cash with the impact forcing them to open and added that the occupants in an attempt to salvage the money were not successful because onlookers picked and called their friends to the scene.

It is said that eyewitnesses to the accident called their friends to come them pick about 500 million cedis, they could only salvage 218,232 after the incident.
