...Calls for prosecution
The All Progressives Congress, Youth League, Ogun State Coordinate has condemned in strong terms, the gruesome attack on a News blogger, Timothy Odedina on Monday,13th July, 2020 around Somorin area of Abeokuta.
The Coordinator of the League and Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Sports, Comrade Olamide Lawal, stated this when he visited the Obantoko Divisional Police Station in solidarity with the blogger who is also the Ogun Central Senatorial Coordinator of the League.
Lawal expressed his displeasure on the incident noting that the present administration in the state frowns at acts of thuggery and hooliganism.
"Prince Dapo Abiodun's administration is a peace-loving one. And anyone wants to toy with the peace of this state would not be allowed to carry out his devilish acts. Enough is enough. Mr Governor wants a peaceful Ogun State" Lawal explained

The Coordinator pointed out that feelers from some sources have it that the attack was masterminded by Political Opponents of the Governor who had issues with Odedina the previous day on a social media platform due to some of expository publications on his blog and had threatened to get rid of him.
He enjoined men of the Nigeria Police to carry out an unbiased investigation into the fracas and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.
Responding, the Divisional Police Officer of the station, assured that the Police would step up its game in a bid towards ensuring that the offenders do not go unpunished.
Blogger Timothy Odedina who was attacked on Monday by suspected political thugs had been in a critical condition after being dealt with to comatose.
