The people of Ede town in Osun state have cried out to the state and federal government to intervene in the ongoing issue of land ownership in the town. The king known as Timi Of Ede (Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal) was said to have confiscated almost all the lands belongs to another family. One of the family who fell victim of that appalling act said, "we are fighting over the land ownership and we took the matter to the Kabiyesi to settle for us but instead of the Kabiyesi to do as expected, he confiscated the land and claimed that the land belongs to the king", Please help us, we want our voices to be heard, he said. This act is becoming rampant and it is fast becoming intolerable for the people. Another man said (name withheld) " even if you're not the true owner of the land, once you have the money to spend or have hectares of land to dash the king, consider the land completely yours", he further stressed that if the former king was as wicked as the current one, the town of Ede wouldn't have be as peaceful as it was before the current King was enthroned. We can't take this anymore, otherwise, land violence is imminent. Please warn Timi Of Edeland.
