Sophie Molineux, a 22 years old mother of one, was travelling on tuesday morning for a family day out with her husband and one year old son when she was forced to breastfeed on a dirty train floor as they couldn’t find a seat on the train.
About 50 commuters were on the train and they all refused to give up their seats for the young mother to breastfeed, this left Sophie with no other choice than to sit on the dirty train floor.

According to Sophie, she considered all 50 commuters on the train as inconsiderate as she had to stand cradling her baby for the 30-minute journey. She had to eventually sit on the filthy floor when her baby tugged at her. She claimed she was shocked at the total demeanour of commuters who passed by her and didn’t offer her a seat.

Sophie who took solace on the filthy ground said that she hopes fit and healthy commuters will use a ‘common sense’ approach and offer their seats to nursing mothers going forward. She also stated out that she was more concerned about her son’s safety and comfort.
