How Mike Adenuga’s in-law Tajudeen Disu Died Fighting Ibeju Lekki Villagers Over land

Otunba Mike Adenuga and family are remembering their late in-law, Tajudeen Disu, who died four years ago, fighting Ibeju Lekki villagers over land dispute. ‘Dad, wherever you are, you are gone, but not forgotten,’ these words of American cinematographer, Conrad Hall, was the countenance of Jamil Disu and his siblings,Tunde and Tolu, when they remembered their father, Alhaji Tajudeen Disu, the late Managing Director of Lekki Worldwide Investment Company,recently.How times flies, so it’s been four years that death struck Tajudeen Disu and took him in a gruesome manner, amidst a wrong war on land dispute. It was like a nemesis, as the words of American General Omar Nelson Bradly that ‘you don’t pursue what does not belong to you with both hand,’ resonated in the minds of those who knew what transpired then. If you recall, in October 2015, Alhaji Tajudeen Disu, in-law to billionaire businessman, Dr. Mike Adenuga, was among those killed when Ibeju Lekki villagers and mobile police clashed in Okunraiye community near Ibeju Lekki. The villagers were said to be on a peaceful protest against ‘forceful takeover’ of their land by Lagos State Government,for the Lekki Free Trade Zone Development, when the policemen attacked them, killing two of the protesters. The villagers said the killing resulted in the crisis. Reports suggest that Jamil’s father who came to the scene with anti-riot police men,that unleashed the terror was  shot and killed by unknown gunmen in the fracas. Four years after his unfortunate death, Otunba Mike Adenuga and his family, his son-in-law, Jamil, who is married to Bella nee Adenuga, are grieving over the loss of Alhaji Tajudeen Disu.His wife Dr Shade Disu,is the worst hit,it has been four years of lonely days and cold nights without her husband and best friend. Despite the promise of the former Lagos Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and Fatai Owoseni, the Commissioner of Police at that time, that the perpetrators of that that murder will be brought to justice,four years on,the bereaved are still crying for justice.
