National President of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN), Mazi Nnamdi Anthony Okwuadigbo FCA was on Thursday, paid an unscheduled courtesy visit to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta.

Mazi Okwaudgbo said the visit, which was majorly meant to appreciate the Management of the Polytechnic for maintaining standard in training reputable accountant, was coincided with the 16th Investiture of the new Executives of Abeokuta District of Society of the Institute.

He announced the introduction of a special new programme, Mutual Agreement Programme with Tertiary Institutions (MCAPTI) for National Diploma Students of the Polytechnic to be run alongside their curricula which will be handled only by ICAN professionals.

He further revealed that the programme will elevate MAPOLY Accounting Students, who apply to become ICAN members, to be exempted of 10 out of 15 papers as against 6 out of 15 courses which was hitherto obtainable in the ICAN professional examination.

Meanwhile, the Rector, Dr. Samson Adeola Odedina while responding to this development, expressed a special gratitude to the National President and his team for the honour done the Polytechnic.

He stated that, MAPOLY has about 50 ICAN members in its establishment which has been responsible largely for transparency and accountability in running a standard operations.

The Rector concluded that, the Management will continue to support the Institute towards achieving the desired development for Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta as well as ensuring  egalitarianism in the society.
