South West PDP Vanguard Condemns Attacks on PDP NWC and NASS Minority Leaders

The southwest wing of the People's Democratic Party PDP has condemned the attack on the Reps Deputy Minority Whip,  Hon. Abdel-Majid Adesegun Adekoya.

According to a press statement signed by Comrade Abayomi Adesuwa,Director of Communication,South West PDP Vanguard, Our attention has been drawn to a publication being circulated on the social media by a faceless group puporting to be writing on behalf of PDP youth in the South West and attacking the National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party and Minority Principal Officers in the National Assembly.

Also, he said "we state unequivocally that there is no such group as PDP Youths Congress in the South West, just as the character who claim to be signing on its behalf is equally faceless. There is no such person as Oluwole Durojaiye, and if there is any similarity in name such is not known to the entire PDP youth caucus in any of the state of the South West."

"We are not unmindful of the fact that some bad losers in the political game are behind these impostors who have taken a vocation in maligning the hard earned reputation and integrity of members of the PDP National Working Committee and the entire leadership of our great party."

"For the avoidance of doubt, the contest for the principal offices at the National Assembly has come and gone, and our great party has moved on, learning from its experience and having become wiser that the National Assembly is an independent arm of government with the entire Nigeria as its constituent and insulated from political party intrigues and maneuvers he added."

"We do not however take kindly to such assault on the leadership of our great party by character(s) hiding under the faceless group to cast aspersion on the integrity of members of the National Working Committee."

"An attack on members of the NWC is a direct affront and attacks on the party and this portray the party and all its members in very bad light."

"To have sponsored and caused to be published such libelous material against members of the NWC is to suggest that they are people of doubtful character who can be ‘purchased’ off the shelf like a commodity and by implication saying that the PDP is populated by corrupt people in its leadership cadre."

He therefore call on the leadership of the PDP to investigate the source of the libelous publication and act accordingly against those behind it and those hiding behind the mask to paint the party in such bad light.
