"The best we could do to move this country forward in this age, is to encourage polytechnic education. Thank God for NBTE and FG disposition, I'll say without bias, the northern governors are very supportive of their state owned institutions.

"What you should expect from us is that, the polytechnic products will no longer be discriminated by government policies. Secondly, we want innovations, patent and researches that have been developed within the polytechnic system to transform like we have in the advanced country into industrial product, it will not only help the system, but will help the country as a whole."

Speaking earlier, the Rector, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Dr. Samson Adeola Odedina attributed the new SSANIP President's victory to the restoration of MAPOLY to full academic activities by Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Odedina said, the leading credibility of the Governor metamorphosed into success at the poll for the new SSANIP President who is a staff of the polytechnic.

The Rector said the polytechnic will continue to maintain it role as leading institution in Nigeria in terms of quality training, welfare of staff and union agitations.

"We should be expecting MAPOLY playing it role as a leader in the polytechnic education in Nigeria. We are going to provide leadership in quality training, welfare of staff and all sorts of agitations from staff. We must be leading because if we're not leading, other institutions will not follow suit.

"So, MAPOLY is back to take it position as a leader in polytechnic education in our country".
