Ogun State sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Clement Oladele On Wednesday met with members of Ogun State Transport Unions committee headed by Barr. Sunday Olufemi Adeniyi in Abeokuta to reiterate the position of the Safety Corps to enforce the laws on motorcycles, tricycles and vehicles on the roads.

Oladele while updating the transport unions committee said that they would begin to clamp down motorcycles, tricycles and vehicles without number plates and the drivers driving without class 'A' drivers license , most especially the commercial ones with effect from August 1st, 2019.

Federal Road Safety Corps relied on the  provisions of Section 10 Sub Section 4 (h) and (i) of the FRSC (Establishment) Act, 2007 which empowered the corps from carrying out their onus.

The Sector Commander implored the transport committee to enlighten all tricycle and motorcycle operators in the state on the pertinence to acquire the license before the deadline.
Oladele said the operators and the drivers must be licensed before they could be allowed to operate in order to enhance established processes for fishing out criminals, untrained and unqualified drivers on the roads.

While thanking the Sector Commander, Mr. Clement Oladele and his team, the Transport Unions committee Chairman, Barr. Sunday Olufemi Adeniyi said the transport committee would soon organise seminars for the Unions leaders and members in the State. He assured the corps Sector commander that they would inform the transport Unions members in the state to be fast in acquiring the new number plates,  drivers license and permit before the deadlines.
