Tiwa savage, born on 5th of February, 1980 is a Nigerian songwriter and singer. She moved to London at the age of 11 years old with her family. She attended high school in London where she was a trombone player for her school’s orchestra band. She later graduated from the University of Kent where she bagged a degree in Business Administration. She further graduated with a degree in music from Berklee College of Music.

Music Career

She started her music Career at a very young age (16 years old) where she started as a backup vocalist for George Michael, Kelly Clarkson, Mary J Blige and so on.

Tiwa Savage later moved to Nigeria where she releases her debut album "Once Upon a Time" on 3rd of July, 2013. Her track hit singles include: "kele kele love", "love me", "eminado" and " Ife wa gbona". This album brought her into limelight and she hasn't relented ever since.

She however releases her 2nd album, R.E.D on 19th of December, 2015 and the album includes two hit singles; "standing ovation" and "my darlin". Her 3rd album "Sugarcane" was released on September, 2017 which includes some notable hit singles like "all over" and "ma lo".

Tiwa Savage signed manageable and distribution deal with ROC Nation on June, 2016 which was announced on her Instagram account. She became the first Nigerian singer to be signed by ROC Nation.

She however became the first African female singer to sell out Indigo at the O2 Arena, London which happens to be her first concert in the UK.

4.Best Female Artist in West Africa at the African Muzik Magazine Awards

5.Female Musician of The Year at the City People Entertainment Awards

6.Best Female Artist at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2014

7.Best Vocal Performance (Female) at The Headies for the song, “Love Me (3x)”

8.Most Gifted R&B Music Video of the Year at the Channel O Music Video Awards for the song, “Oyi (Remix)” (Flavour N’abania featuring Tiwa Savage)

Endorsement

She was the first ever artist from Africa to be endorsed by Pepsi, she joined the likes of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and so on.

She also got other endorsement deals with MTN, Forte Oil and Maggi.
