Rilwan Akiolu, the Oba of Lagos, has tagged former President Olusegun Obasanjo as the first source of Nigeria's problems.
Akinolu deployed very ascerbic words to condemn the Godly powers Obasanjo arrogated to himself which he said prompted Obasanjo to believe that President Buhari will not be reelected just because he (Obasanjo) said so.
While hosting participants of the Senior Executive Course 41 of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, who visited him in his palace in Lagos, Akinolu reaffirmed God's exclusive power to appoint who leads Nigeria at any point in time.
He said, ”I had said that Buhari would win even before the election, unfortunately, the number one person creating problems in this country is former president Obasanjo.
”He arrogated to himself the powers of the Almighty Allah by saying it was the support he gave to Buhari that made him win the first term.
”Obasanjo said Buhari would not win the second term, but did Buhari not win? Did I not say Obasanjo will be disappointed by the time the results were announced.
”The president’s victory clearly shows power belongs to God only and no man can decide who leads the country.”
The Oba then called on Nigerians to support Buhari to enable him deliver the goods as he begins his second term in office.
According to him, the current issues of insecurity, unemployment and other challenges facing the country would be easily addressed should citizens join hands with government to tackle them
Obasanjo, who gave incumbent President his backing during the 2015 general elections turned out to be one of his dogged critics.
The former president didn't spare any opportuinity to lampoon President Buhari, dismissing him as an incompetent learder especially in weeks leading up to the presidential election.
