2019 Election: Senatorial Candidate Intimate Ogun Central People

•Expresses Confidence In The Security Agencies, INEC....

Ahead of the February 16th general election, The African Democratic Congress Senatorial Candidate for Ogun Central district, Rt. Hon Titi Oseni Gomez has called press interaction to intimate the good people of Ogun state on few matters as regards the impending general elections and in this instance, the National Assembly election.

On Saturday 16th February, 2019, the people of the six local governments of Ogun central senatorial district will go to the polls to elect their representative to the upper chamber of the National Assembly. As you all aware, I am standing for this election under the platform of the most peaceful party in Nigeria, African Democratic Congress (ADC).

According to her:

"In the last few weeks, we have traversed the nook and crannies of these local governments; the response and acceptability has been awesome. The desire of our people to see effective representation at the senate have never been this pronounced; and to that effect; I feel more motivated and determined to emerge victorious in the polls."

"Going around also, I see the neglect and pains of the people of Ogun central senatorial districts – some of which – good executive governance could have prevented and even much more, effective representation could have facilitated better federal developmental projects that will culminate in better life for the people." said Titi Oseni-Gomez."

Nonetheless, the lamentation has to stop. I am convinced that the people are ready and willing to give me their votes come Saturday.

"With my wealth of experience as a former leader of the Ogun State legislature and having also attuned myself to the needs of my constituents over the years, I am better positioned to give Ogun Central Senatorial district the best representation among my competitors."

"As the election approaches, we have heard and seen some trends from the opposition parties which suggest that this election could be subjected to a number of antidemocratic tendencies – for which we cry out now! she Added."

Just two days ago, we witnessed with rude shock, the brazen harassment, intimidation and physical attacks of members of a political party – masterminded and executed by a leader of the same political family; right in the presence of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; among other national dignitaries. This, to us, is a red flag!

We have also been inundated with the subtle plan by the same perpetrators to repeat the thuggery and anarchy on Saturday in order to prevent their impending loss.

She also used the medium to state emphatically that she shall not allow them export their internal brigandage to the main election which we shall be participating in. The plan to instill fear in our people and prevent them from coming out to vote have been uncovered.

Gomez implore the good people of Ogun central senatorial district to resist the planned intimidation. They should be strong and troop out to vote according to their conscience on Saturday. They should not be intimidated or fear anyone.

More importantly, she cares the people to reject their temporary inducement of money and other materials; and vote for a more enduring legacy. They must reject self-preservation at the expense of the destiny of Ogun central people.

She expresses confident in the security agencies led by the newly posted Commissioner of Police among others – would do their job of protecting every voter that day; devoid of bias and collusion.

She also call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to go about its assignment in a most patriotic manner by ensuring that the voting process – from accreditation to result announcement – is seen to be free, fair, transparent and credible.

Finally, she assures the Ogun central people will not again be under the bondage of an overlord for the next four years. As they have run Ogun state underground in the last eight years and now want to perpetuate themselves. We say no and the people also say no!

"My people should go out this Saturday and vote for all the Senatorial and House of Representatives candidate of the ADC; and on March 2nd, we should all go out again and vote massively for the ADC in the Governorship and house of Assembly election. Said Titi Oseni Gomez."
