2019 Election: DIG Charges Stakeholders On Credible Poll

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Agboola Oshodi-Glover has charged the electorates in a sensitisation program held at the Ogun state Police headquarter, Eleweran Abeokuta today, DIG Agboola read the security acts towards the forthcoming elections in Nigeria on behalf of the inspector general of police, deployment of policemen to strategic areas to curb public disturbance, inter party afflictions, intimidation, stigmatisation of political rallies.

According to DIG Agboola, Police are to arrest any politicians engaging in display of firearms, dangerous weapon and any forms of violence during the election periods as he assures the groups of maximum cooperation in the side of the police to ensure free, and fair election in 2019.

In attendance was association, groups, human right like National Union of Road Workers, Hausa Community, Igbo Community, National Association of Nigerian Students NANS, CDHR, Nigeria Prisons,IPAC led by Comrade Abayomi Arabambi, Sanyalolu Abayomi and others, Chairman of All Progressives Congress APC, PCRC,  Young party, Labour Party, People's Democratic Party was also represented.

Then event which later turned to interactive session between the groups and the police chiefs, where different questions were thrown to the DIG of police for answers.
Comrade Abayomi Arabambi, the IPAC chairman Ogun State assured the police of maximum cooperation during and after election periods.

Mr James Oludele Popoola,The Admin. Secretary to the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC ,Ogun State who ably represented the residential commissioner, he expresses readiness of the agency towards the forthcoming general election with the consultation of the police to ensure peace during the election periods.
He reinstated that the commission, INEC cannot be separated from the police as they are Siamese twins to make the forthcoming election peaceful.

The Police Community Relations Committee PCRC, Alhaji Mogaji who expresses satisfaction as well as appreciates CP Ilyasu Ahmed commission of police, Ogun State for his drives making Ogun State peaceful with his masses friendly police community service.
He also charged the Nigeria Police Force to provide adequate resources to combat crimes in the country.

He also, plead to the politicians to work hand in hand with the police, to ensure peace continue to reign in Ogun State.
He also salute the courage of the CDHR secretary, Comrade Folarin for his relentless pursuit in restoring communal peace with the PCRC and the police.
