According to the commissioner of police, Ahmed Ilyasu, the suspect decided to shift their operational base to Ogun State, but before they fully settle down for their nefarious activities, the intelligence arm of the Command got wind of their movement and they met their waterloo.

"The gang started their operation with snatching of motorcycle which they did to test the veracity of security architecture of the State. When the report came to my notice, I directed the Officer in charge FSARS Sp Uba Adams to go after the culprits with the view of bringing them to book."

"In compliance with my directive, the FSARS operatives through technical intelligence driven investigation tracked down and apprehended one Olalekan Olawale who on interrogation revealed that the snatched motorcycle has been sold to somebody at Ilara in Imeko Afon local government area of the State. He further confessed been homosexual and that he used to sleep with two Yahoo boys for a fee of #50,000 per night. Five minutes after divulging this information, he started vomiting blood. He claimed to have sworn to an oath never to divulge the information and that is the reason why he was vomiting blood. He was quickly rushed to the hospital where he was treated, and released for that purpose on compassionate grounds said CP Ilyasu Ahmed."

However, no sooner than the suspect regained his health, there was a report of a high case of kidnapping a lady/female within Abeokuta metropolis and demanded a ransom of Five hundred thousand naira (#500,000), before the victim was released.
Also, on 12th of October 2018, the Command received an information about an intending robbery operation to be carried out within Abeokuta metropolis, where the police commissioner, Ilyasu then put the FSARS operatives on red alert to foil the operation following which the operatives having identified the area where the robbery was to take place laid ambush for the hoodlums and eventually succeeded in nabbing two members of the gang. Behold, Olalekan Olawale who was earlier released on health ground was among the duo. His accomplice is one 25year-old Danladi ISah.

A Toyota corolla car, with registration number KRD 72 BB, one AK47 Riffle with 25rounds of ammunition, one pump action gun, 15 live cartridges and two locally made double barrel pistols with four live cartridges were recovered from them.

On interrogation, they confessed to series of robbery operations, one of which was the dispossession of serving police officer of his Toyota corolla car at gun point. They confessed further that the snatched car has been taken to one of their gang members at Iseyin in Oyo State.

Subsequently, the operatives moved down to Iseyin where the car was recovered in custody of one Tobi Adeosun with the particulars bearing the name of the gang leader Ismaila Adeosun. The said particulars of the car were kept by one Yetunde Adeosun ‘f’ which by implication means that the three siblings are members of the syndicate. It was further revealed that Yetunde Adeosun is a girlfriend to Danladi ISah one of the first two armed robbers in our net.

Funny enough, Danladi Isah and Ismaila Adeosun were involved in an armed robbery operation in 2013, they were arrested by this same FSARS, arraigned in court and jailed for five years. They came out of prison in March 2018. The pump action gun they used then for their operation was found in Tobi Adeosun custody as their amourer.

On further interrogation, the duo of Danladi Isah and Olalekan Olawale informed the operatives that all the cars they robbed here in Nigeria were sold to one “Papa’’ in Republic of Benin.

Based on this information, machinery was set in motion to apprehend the said “Papa’’ by surreptitiously inviting him through his two already arrested accomplices to come and pick another proceed of crime to his base in Benin Republic. Rather than coming, “Papa’’ sent two of his boys namely Dele Obey 35yrs of age and Bayo Quaheeb 30yrs of age. The duo were promptly arrested at Sango Ota on October 14, 2018 with a customized plate number bearing “JAGUNMOLU’’. They equally came with four packs of live cartridges to be handed over to Danladi and Olalekan for further robbery operations.

Unknown to other members of the syndicate that Danladi and Olalekan have already been arrested, one Oluwatosin Abayomi 30yrs of age called the phone of Olalekan to meet him at Ahmadiyah area in Lagos for an operation aimed at raising money to hire the service of a lawyer for the release of their kingpin, Ismaila Adeosun not knowing it was booby trap arranged by our operatives.

Following that development, the operatives laid ambush and apprehended Oluwatosin and another member of the syndicate, Abel Womiloju 21yrs of age on October 15th 2018. Recovered from them on the spot were two locally-made double barrel pistols and 15 rounds of live cartridges. Oluwatosin later took operatives to a place where he parked a snatched Toyota corolla car with registration number KSF 40 FS and it was recovered.

On further investigation, it was discovered that one of their sponsors and receiver resides in Abuja following which our men moved to Abuja, tracked and arrested the said sponsor by name Endurance Odiawa who has narrated his role in conveying and disposal of snatched exotic cars from Southern part of the Country to Abuja. His confession led to the arrest of another member of the gang by name Kingsley Opara who also confessed meeting one of the gang members in Kuje prison Abuja in 2014 and when he came out of prison, he gave Tosin Abayomi the sum of #100,000 to purchase ARMS and AMMUNITION to continue their robbery operations unabated, but the reverse is the case.

Meanwhile , An ex-convict Kingsley Chukwu ‘m’ was arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command on the 29th of October at about 10:00pm in Onipanu area of Ota.

His arrest followed a distress call received by Police at Onipanu Division that an Okada rider was attacked at Divine Wisdom community in Iyesi area and his bike was snatched away.

Consequently, the DPO Onipanu Division Sp Sangobiyi Johnson quickly led his anti-robbery team to the scene, combed the entire area with the assistance of the CDA members and subsequently apprehended the suspect while his accomplice escaped. Further search led to the recovery of the snatched Honda motorcycle.

On interrogation, the suspect confessed that he and his fleeing accomplice pretended as passengers when they stopped the okada man, and they hit him on the head with a sharp object which made him to be unconscious before they dispossessed him of the motorcycle. He further disclosed that he has been convicted for similar offence and just came out of prison.

The victim Umaru Hassan has been taken to the hospital where he is responding to treatment.

The Commissioner of Police Cp Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered a serious manhunt for the escaped accomplice; he equally directed that the arrested suspect be transferred to FSARS for discreet investigation.
