The Bishop of Living Faith Church (aka Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, yesterday said the inability of the government to arrest killer herdsmen in some part of the Middle Belt zone was because the killers were agents of the government.
Speaking in Ota, Ogun State, at the Church’s Sunday Service titled ‘Covenant Day of Settlement and Thanksgiving’, the clergyman stated that it was absurd for the government to fail in arresting some self-confessed killer herders in Jos, Plateau State.Oyedepo said: “Help me ask them how many mosques have been destroyed by these people? You can also ask them how many of those who have destroyed the church has ever been caught? How many of the destroyed churches has government ever added a dime to rebuild?
“I have said it, let us remove the mask from the masquerade and nobody will fear it anymore. Government is part of this thing; you don’t need to go to school to know that.“If people claimed responsibilities to the killings in Jos and were not arrested, the question is who is to arrest them? Is it the citizens or government? It’s the government, but they cannot arrest them because they are their agents.”
While stating that every leader is a caretaker and God remains the creator and owner of every nation, including Nigeria, he added that Nigeria would have peace when they understand that God is in control of everything, including the land.“When a caretaker starts behaving like a landlord he will be removed. God is the permanent landlord of the earth.
“Too many arrogant foes who pose to own this nation, be warned because the day of God’s judgement is here.“Those who sponsor and perpetrate killings and also offer covering for killers to keep killing, God will lead them to rest. God will give us peace in this country by all means.“God enthrones kings and removes kings,” he said.
Apparently irked by the spate of wanton killings across the nation by so-called Fulani Herdsmen and the disturbing insufficient action and prolonged silence of relevant authorities to curb the situation that seems to have gone on unabated, the Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church worldwide, David Oyedepo has sounded a note of warning to Nigerians and asked should farmers be killed for Fulani herdsmen to live?

God have mercy! Should Farmers Be Killed For Fulani Herdsmen To Live? “Let me ask these pertinent questions that bother on conscience of a nation and her leaders. Is cattle business government business? Should farmers be killed for Fulani Herdsmen to live? Should all the farmers leave their farms today in the fear of Fulani Herdsmen? As at the last time I knew, Nigeria still produces less than 20% of what she eats.
What is the contribution of the Herdsmen and their cattle business to the GDP of Nigeria? There is more to this slow response of government to addressing this sensitive issue which is obviously a time bomb. Are Fulani Herdsmen the Owners of Nigeria? “Question number 2: Does Nigerian land belong to the Fulani Herdsmen? There has never been this kind of assault on the intelligence of the people like we have it now. Should you allocate my father’s land to Fulani Herdsmen? Never! There will be brutal response.
No, No. Are they now the customary land owners of every state, city, town, village and hamlet in Nigeria? There is danger in the offing. Every community may soon set up their own security system to defend the insurgency of the Fulani Herdsmen. Do You Still Trust the Security Agencies? “Question number 3: Can the citizens still trust the security agencies of this nation for their protection? You will be vulnerable for life! Where citizens cannot trust government for security, a state of anarchy is in view.
Insurrection may as well be on the way. This largely unchecked aggression of Fulani Herdsmen may eventually choke the soul of Nigeria to death. God forbid! Is the Nigerian Project Still On Course? “Question number 4: Is the Nigerian project still working? Without justice there cannot be peace. You don’t step on my toes and say let’s have peace. I say ‘remove your leg, you are on my toes,’ and you say ‘no.’ You can’t have peace but exchange of blows! Caution! Let politicians be warned! Don’t sell off the destinies of men for your ambitions.
